We have been blessed with the arrival of an exceptional Knabstrupper colt who is everything we could have hoped for. I cannot tell you how excited we are about this boy – he is the start of some big things for us!

INXS is by the Knabstrupper stallion Xhogun Middelsom and out of a premium Trakehner graded TB mare. He is eligible for a Danish passport - a first for New Zealand. INXS carries a famous pedigree of Knabstrupper lines which we are unbelievably fortunate to now have in NZ. As with all other warmblood breeds in Europe, stallions who are really worth their salt are required to be performance tested if they are to be granted a full breeding license by the studbook – an excellent form of quality control. Xhogun was performance tested in 2007 and not only did he receive a premium grade – he was also the highest scoring Knab for that year in the UK. Xhogun was born in Denmark and later sold to BlackLaw stud in Scotland - a stud who have developed a very solid reputation for breeding top quality Knabstruppers who have been exported around the world. Following his performance test and grading, he was sold back to Denmark – another testament to the quality of this stallion.

On his dam’s side, INXS boasts some equally as famous TB lines – with names like Battle Wagon and Lunchtime, and even further back, Son in Law, Nasrullah, Phalaris and Precipitation. With a pedigree like that – this young colt is hopefully destined for great things! His dam has been fully graded by a German Assessor for the Trakehner studbook and was awarded an excellent score of 54, which puts her at premium status within the studbook. She is a mare with exceptionally good movement – and we are already starting to see some of those traits in her son. If his trot is anything like his mother’s – then watch out dressage enthusiasts. You’ll notice him for his eye catching colouring first and foremost, but it will be ground covering trot and gravity defying extension that you will remember him for!
