SkyHi Horses is a small scale stud situated in the Bombays, just two minutes away from SH1. We are just under an hour’s drive from Hamilton, about 40 minutes from Central Auckland and we are very closely situated to the turnoff to SH2.

In 2009, our stud goal shifted and we are now dedicated to the reintroduction of a rare breed of horse to New Zealand – a pure warmblood of Danish descent, known as the Knabstrupper.

Knabstruppers are best known for having spotted coats. The Knabstrupper is not to be confused with Appaloosas – whilst these two breeds appear to share lineage in spotted horses of Spanish descent – they are in fact two separate breeds with two very different histories.

We hope to breed 2 or 3 youngsters a year and we will eventually have some top Knabstruppers for sale. In the meanwhile all filly foals will be retained as future broodmares, but we also intend to have them started under saddle and out and about competing in the disciplines in which they show the most potential.
